Of Man A Beast Is Born

For months I couldn’t shake the feeling of doubt. My head was splitting from sleepless nights. The beast taunted with delight, dragging me thru a recorded world of nightmares.

Physically falling apart, my cup of life emptied, wasting away thru a cyclone of powdered grey oblivion.

Still I gave all my love to save you from your personal mental hell. Forsaken , I screamed out for your hand to lift me from this cold dark place; you stood at the threshold of sunlight, turned  to look at me one last time before you ran away.

Left alone, searching thru a dimly lighted world seeking out hope in every corner of my solitude, finding only a stark silence.

Fixated on memories guiding me to a destination of better times, always ending at the crossroads of the past.

That night  I remember with such cold piercing clarity.

Cloaked in apathy, he could not sense the beating of his passionless heart.

Soaked in betrayal, I followed suit and punctured passed the coded vault of impurities,. I was desperate for micro-expression of honesty; desperate for confirmation. Digging  rabidly thru the online ether in search of lust ,deeply buried from my eyes and my already broken heart.

An savage beast captured the soul of love.

Revelation of his repulsive truth and the nature his sickness, bloomed into existence.

Guilt exposed, his rage erupted from his flaming red hands, anger seeped thru streams of sweat upon his brow, clawing at his temples, shouting out lies and promises to the heavens, a last ditch effort to cover his shame.

A shadow of calm spread across the room, numbing my shocking discovery.

After the storm of his rage finally subsided, the smoke and ashes cleared away from his verbal eruption, I sat motionless, stilled by silenced.

“So that’s it then?” I stared him into his cold watery blue eyes.

He stared back at me, an eternal pause…”That’s it.”

The beast plunged into the past; hauling my broken heart in a nylon suite case,  riding hard plastic wheels, rolling away on the cement pavement.
